The Stanford Fencing Team performed well at this weekend's Western Invitational at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs this weekend. The women came in 2nd, behind Northwestern, and the men came in 3rd with losses to host USAFA and Notre Dame.

Combined, the Cardinal men and women we beat everyone except for Notre Dame.

There was a particularly strong showing from Stanford's freshmen. Freshman Cameron Lindsay lead men's sabre 14 - 4, and Jon Lee lead men's foil 13 - 5. Julia Klepner lead women's sabre with 12 - 5, and Lily McElwee lead women's foil with 14 - 3. Katya Stavisky and team co-captain Ashley Titan lead women's epee, both with 11 - 4. Team co-captain Kevin Mo lead men's epee with 12 - 2.
